nerrik When I heard Mr. Bungle was reuniting only to redo really old stuff I was disappointed. California was my favorite, and until I heard of Umlaut a few months ago, I had no idea McKinnon composed so much of Bungle's work. Don't underestimate the sax player. Other Umlaut albums were hit and miss, but this is the raging wrath of the easter bear I had hoped for. It's a lot different than Bungle, but tied with California for me at this point. Favorite track: Telangiectasia.

Cyril Glaume Umlaüt est de retour, plus jazzy que jamais, avec toujours ce petit grain bunglien dont Bär McKinnon est l'éternel garant.

about

A very festive new EP from Umlaut, the brainchild of Bär McKinnon (Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3), 'Arunachala' is equal parts circus jazz, oddball pop and melancholic soundscapes. Sonny Rollins meets Brian Wilson, Pennywise the Clown and the Easter Bunny?
